Dope Video Alert: J.Cole "Who Dat"

J. Cole - Who Dat (Directed by BBGUN) from bbgun on Vimeo.

Listen to Cole's verse starting at 2:39 ...is there a friendly Drizzy/Cole rivalry brewing? I hope so, the game needs this. Competition makes music so much better.

MUSIC REVIEW (The Roots - "How I Got Over")

Have no fear ladies and gentleman...for the self proclaimed "Money Making Jam Trillionaires" are hear. The Roots crew are back with their ninth album entitled How I Got Over. The group has described the album as "depicting the everyman's search for hope in this dispiriting post-hope zeitgeist", and I couldn't have said it any better. This album takes a drastic turn from the both critically acclaimed, yet dark and brooding sounds of Game Theory, 2006 & Rising Down, 2008. The album starts with the soul stirring "Walk Alone", where group affiliates Dice Raw, Truck North and P.O.R.N. describe and assess everyday problems and feelings. The direction of the album then flawlessly transitions to The Roots' re-creation of the Monsters Of Folk track "Dear God" in "Dear God 2.0", Lead MC Black Thought pleads to the creator and to our souls over beautiful and simplistic instrumentation. In my  personal opinion, the real gem of the the album is a track called "The Day"... west coast MC Blu, Phonte Coleman (formerly of Little Brother, Foreign Exchange) and Black Thought effortlessly rhyme about the makings of simply a positive day over the raspy voice of newcomer Patty Crash. The album sounds like one long cohesive track at times, but only because of the wonderful transition from song to song. Nevertheless The Roots have once again delivered what could possibly be their third classic record in a row.

Album Score 8.5 Beats out of 10 ....this record is dope, totally worth the 10 bucks. -Cage

Welcome... MMM MMM MM Ya'll Look Gooood!

Hello kiddies * Cryptkeeper Voice*
Welcome to my brainchild. I decided to name this place BBT# , because I compare life to an instrumental, we have our ups...we have our downs and then the beat stops. It might be a smooth Jazz piece or a heavy laden bass track, either way the sound is beautiful. THIS IS NOT A BLOG (no shots fired). Once again, this is not a blog. This is a place for you. This is your barbershop, this is your salon, this is your frat-house, this is your candystore etc. This isn't a place for me to spread bullsh*t a** ideas, its a forum built by me to open minds up. I'm bringing a lot of dope sh*t to the table....im talking music, movies,  we gon' talk about relationships, the whole 9. Sit back, buckle ya' seatbelts and enjoy the journey ...allow me to lace these virtual douches in your bushes!!! LOL  -Cage
